Software Engineer

Freeday·Netherlands

Software Engineer At Freeday, we build digital employees that automate repetitive work so people can focus on what really matters. Our AI platform helps companies streamline processes, connect systems and bring intelligent automation to life. Now we’re looking for a Software Engineer who wants to build the product behind those digital employees. Someone who enjoys solving real client problems, understands the product behind the code and knows how to turn messy ideas into clear, shippable work. What you’ll do As a Software Engineer, you’ll join our Digital Employee Management Platform squad. This is the part of Freeday that helps clients configure, coach and manage their digital employees. Think skills, flows, integrations, coaching loops, admin tooling and the portal experience around it. You bring product sense, client empathy and engineering ownership. You understand what clients are trying to achieve, translate that into practical technical solutions and help decide what we should build, configure or leave for later. This is not a role where tickets are handed to you fully written out. You’ll be involved earlier in the process. You’ll ask questions, shape ideas, write things down clearly and then help ship the solution. Your days might look like this: Turning client and implementation team input into scoped engineering work Building backend features, integrations and platform improvements Working mainly with Python and Django, while touching other parts of the stack when needed Writing clear technical designs, ADRs or product notes that others can understand Joining discussions with product, design, implementation and engineering Building integrations with systems like Salesforce, Microsoft Graph, Apaleo or Zendesk Helping ship client-specific projects without turning everything into custom work Keeping the product practical, scalable and useful in the real world Why Freeday We are a Rotterdam based tech scale-up with big ambitions and a team that loves building things that matter. We prefer working together at the office because the best ideas often start at the coffee machine or in front of a whiteboard. You’ll join a curious group of people who like solving real problems and learning every day how to get better at it. No big egos. No corporate nonsense. Just people who want to build meaningful products together. What you’ll get from us A role with real influence where you can see the direct impact of your work A team full of smart and driven people A solid salary, pension plan, laptop and travel allowance An office five minutes from Rotterdam Central Space to grow, experiment and make mistakes because that is how you learn Regular drinks, fun team moments and plenty of laughs along the way Who you are You are a software engineer who cares about more than just the code. You want to understand why something is being built, who it helps and whether it actually solves the problem. You like working on product questions, but you still enjoy engineering. You can take a vague problem, ask the right questions and turn it into something clear enough to build. You are pragmatic by default. You do not overcomplicate things when a simple solution gets us moving. You probably recognize yourself in this: You have around 3 to 5 years of professional engineering experience You are strong in backend development, ideally with Python Experience with Django or Django REST Framework is useful, but not a must You have worked on product features, not only technical tickets You can explain previous work in terms of the problem, the user and the trade-offs You write clearly and can document technical choices in a way others understand You are comfortable working with ambiguity You like talking to people outside engineering to understand what is really needed Comfortable using tools like Cursor, Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools You speak English fluently You are based in the Netherlands and can work from our office regularly Nice to have Experience with AI, LLMs, agents, prompts or evals Experience with GCP, Postgres, Grafana or basic ops Experience in a SaaS or scale-up environment Experience with conversational AI, chatbots or voice agents Dutch communication skills are a plus, but not required This role is probably not for you if You prefer to only work on deep backend, platform or infra problems You need fully written Jira tickets before you can get started You want to specialize deeply in one technical layer You prefer research over shipping real product improvements Interested? Check out www.freeday.ai or send us a message. We would love to hear from you.

AI Marketing Automation Internship

FieldBuddy·Netherlands

Amsterdam (hybrid) · Marketing · 4 to 6 months · €750 per month Everyone's talking about AI in marketing. Far fewer people are actually building with it. That's exactly what you'll do at FieldBuddy: turn AI tools and automation ideas into marketing machinery that runs every single day. We're looking for an ambitious bachelor's or master's student for a hands-on internship at a SaaS company in Amsterdam. You'll spend 4 to 6 months building AI agents, automation flows, and smarter campaigns for our marketing team. Not as an experiment on the side, but as work the team relies on. What you'll do Your first weeks are about getting to know our product, our customers, and how field service companies buy software. After that, you'll build. You'll work side by side with our marketing managers, designers, and developers, and you'll get real ownership from day one. Build marketing automation flows: email sequences, lead nurturing, and lead scoring in and around our Salesforce CRM. Put AI tools like Claude to work for the team: automate content production, campaign copy, translations, and repetitive marketing tasks. Design AI agents and workflows that save the team hours every week, and document them so they keep running long after your internship ends. Test, measure, and improve. You'll see exactly which of your automations bring in leads and which don't, and you'll adjust based on the numbers. Pitch your own ideas. If you spot a process that can be automated, it's yours. Who you are A bachelor's or master's student in marketing, communication, business, data, or a technical field. You've already played around with AI tools and want to go beyond prompting: you want to build things that run on their own. You like both the creative side (copy, campaigns) and the technical side (tools, data, logic). Experience with automation platforms like Zapier or Make, or with a CRM like Salesforce, is a plus. Curiosity is a must. Hands-on, precise, and comfortable figuring things out on your own. Fluent in English, written and spoken. Dutch is a plus, not a requirement. Available for 4 to 6 months, as a regular internship or a thesis project. What you'll get An internship allowance of €750 per month, plus a laptop and everything else you need to do your work well. Real responsibility and a portfolio to show for it: automations a real company keeps using after you've left. Smart colleagues who take the time to show you how SaaS marketing works, from first click to closed deal. An office in Amsterdam with a coffee bar, gym, golf simulator, ping pong table, pool table, and a PS5. Hybrid working, and Friday afternoon drinks that sometimes come with a DJ. About FieldBuddy FieldBuddy is the largest field service software provider in the Benelux, built on 30+ years of field service expertise. Our software helps companies with a mobile workforce plan, execute, and invoice their work, from local service teams to internationally operating organisations. We're a team of around 40 people in Amsterdam, backed by Main Capital Partners, and we're putting AI to work across the whole company: from smart scheduling for our customers to the marketing automations you'll be building. Interested? Apply via the button below with your CV and a short note about the best thing you've built or automated so far. A formal cover letter isn't needed. We'd rather see what you make.

Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Insurance Platform

Insify·Netherlands

ABOUT INSIFY We sell a mix of insurance products to small businesses (SME's) in the Netherlands, Germany and France, and we are in the process of scaling into more markets. Insurance infrastructure is brutal to get right. Every carrier has its own spec, every product its own underwriting rules, every country its own regulatory requirements. Most insurers throw people and process at that complexity - one-off integrations, workarounds on workarounds. We're building it differently: our insurance platform is where we consolidate that complexity, so that launching a new product or market becomes a configuration exercise rather than a rebuild. Insify is a high-growth scale-up backed by more than €40M from investors like Accel, Munich Re Ventures, and Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg. In five years we've expanded from the Netherlands into France and Germany. Our mission: become the European leader in AI-powered SME insurance. About the role You would join the Insurance Platform team, responsible for everything that happens after a small business buys a policy from us. You would take technical leadership in that team, and shape how the platform handles the next product and the next country, on a system already carrying live policies and real customers. The team owns end-to-end policy lifecycle management (mid-term adjustments, automated renewals, cancellations, and payment flows) alongside the backoffice tooling that gives our operations and support teams full visibility and control. We work closely with the Claims Team, and with the Activation Teams that turn a lead into a paying customer. Product and engineering together are 30+ people. Every country has its own regulatory quirks, and every insurance product has unique data structures, lifecycle rules, and money flows. As we expand across Europe, our goal isn't to write custom glue code for every new launch. It's to design elegant, reusable platform abstractions. We're building a system where introducing a new country or product feels like snapping modular building blocks together. You're joining at an exciting inflection point: we have real traction, proven scale, and you get to directly build the foundational platform that powers our next wave of European growth. What you'll be doing Taking technical leadership within a team, owning the wider picture: what you ship as a team end to end, and the operational health of what we run Continuously and relentlessly seeking opportunities to turn new product demands into platform capabilities and features that scale across countries and insurance product lines Challenging our ideas and bringing your own. We encourage each other to act this way, so you can expect the same from others What you'll need 5+ years building complex web applications and services, including time spent maintaining and evolving systems you designed yourself Ownership & impact instinct - when needed you go beyond your direct stack to get to results, be that data / backend / frontend You get real leverage out of AI in your daily work, and you can say where it helped, and where it hurt Strong fundamentals in domain-driven design & service oriented architecture Not all of the above are hard requirements. If you're strong on most of these and eager to grow into the rest, we'd still love to hear from you. Nice to have Experience building B2B products, especially in insurance & fintech Experience working on a product distributed across different country markets Strong observability instincts. You know where things will break, and can help others learn that too Our stack TypeScript across the board, running on AWS (IaaC), in a single monorepo. If you have not worked with all of it, that is fine. We care more about how you reason about systems than about which tools you have used before. We offer Competitive compensation that reflects responsibility and impact. For this role the range is €85,000 to €130,000. Equity. We want the people building Insify to share in its long-term success, so we run an equity program that grants options based on performance. Trust and autonomy. You'll have real ownership, room to make decisions, and space to shape your role as Insify evolves. Hybrid working. 3 days in the office, 2 from home, up to 4 weeks a year working from abroad, and 25 holiday days. Pension. We contribute 6% for you. Alleo budget. €50 net a month to spend on whatever you want, from the gym to takeaway. It rolls over if you don't use it. Learning and coaching. Internal leadership programs, and coaching to go with them. A central Amsterdam office. Shared lunches, dogs, whiteboards, and Friday drinks. Hardware & setup. A high-spec MacBook Pro, high-res monitors at the office, and comfortable ergonomic seating.

Applicants should only use our job board to submit an application, and will interact directly with our team during this process. This is a Full-Time Role (40 hours per week, 5DWW) with no option for part-time work. While this is a remote-first opportunity, the candidate filling this role must be a resident of the Netherlands or in the U.K. at the start of employment. Additionally, they must be within commuting distance of our office in Amsterdam or London.  Please visit our Careers page to review all opportunities and submit your application for the role(s) that best fit your location and work authorization. This job ad will close automatically at 9:00AM EST on October 23rd. About the Team The Data & AI team is responsible for building B Lab's data platform, delivering on business priorities, and bringing AI into how B Lab works. We approach AI deliberately, and with people and planet in view. B Lab is currently exploring how to use AI in a responsible way, aligned with our values and mission. The team reports directly to the CTDO. AI Enablement is one of three pillars within Data Analytics & AI, the demand side of the Data & AI team. It drives responsible, practical AI adoption across B Lab through three connected roles. The Senior Manager of Data Analytics & AI leads the branch and brings the knowledge of B Lab's systems and data infrastructure. The AI Workflow Lead works with teams to design and scale AI workflows. The AI Enablement & Learning Platform Lead builds the learning paths and skills that help people use them well. About the Opportunity The AI Workflow Lead  is B Lab's AI workflow builder: an internal “consultant” who works closely with teams on the ground to understand how they work, find where AI can add the most value, and turn those opportunities into scalable, responsible AI workflows. Aside from internal processes, as you grow an understanding of our products, you will be working closely with our Product team to help identify opportunities in which AI can add meaningful value.   The role takes an organisation-level view. It runs the discovery and design behind cross-team workflows, coordinates delivery with the Data & AI team, Data engineering and the teams involved, and helps build the champion networks that carry adoption forward. It keeps a continuous picture of how AI is being used across B Lab, and where it falls short. Those insights feed the training built by the AI Enablement & Learning Platform Lead, and the role measures whether the workflows and programmes we run actually deliver. It sits within Data & AI and reports to the Senior Manager of Data Analytics & AI. Together with the AI Enablement & Learning Platform Lead, it brings insights back to shape AI strategy collectively, which is then taken to the CTDO. It works across every function, with Product & Platform Engineering, and with governance and compliance stakeholders. The role works closely with the AI Enablement & Learning Platform Lead and will cover core AI-enablement responsibilities during that role's parental leave. Core Responsibilities  Workflow Discovery & Design (40%) Work closely with teams on the ground to understand their processes, pain points and goals, using interviews, process mapping and design thinking to find high-value AI opportunities. Design and ship  team and organisation-level AI workflows from idea to scaled solution, coordinating with the Data & AI team, Data engineering and the teams impacted. Identify and scope meaningful AI opportunities in product-facing surfaces such as the B Impact platform, partnering with Product & Platform Engineering, and with the data/platform team where data or ML builds are needed. Turn successful pilots into standard, supported workflows that other teams can adopt. Use-Case Pipeline & Landscape Monitoring (20%) Run a structured use-case pipeline (intake → evaluate → pilot → scale), so AI adoption is systematic rather than ad hoc. Continuously monitor how AI is being used across the organisation, including what works, where limitations appear, and where risks emerge, and feed these insights into the training built by the AI Enablement & Learning Platform Lead. Scan the AI landscape for new tools, capabilities and risks, and evaluate tools against clear criteria, including responsible-use, privacy and security considerations. Impact Measurement (15%) Measure the impact of the AI workflows and programmes we run, including time saved, quality and ROI, and report clearly on what is working and what isn't. (People's skills progression is tracked by the AI Enablement & Learning Platform Lead.) Build simple dashboards and analyses that make adoption and impact visible to stakeholders. Insight, Strategy & Adoption Support (15%) Together with the AI Enablement & Learning Platform Lead, report insights to the Senior Manager of Data Analytics & AI, so that AI strategy is shaped collectively and based on operational reality. Recommend where to invest in tools and workflows; decisions are co-made with the Senior Manager of Data Analytics & AI and the CTDO. Help develop and support AI champion networks across teams and regions, so that good practice spreads beyond individual projects. Act as a point of contact for use-case and workflow questions from staff, escalating policy questions to the AI Enablement & Learning Platform Lead. Support responsible use and governance in practice (policy, guardrails and approval workflows owned elsewhere). Other projects and team coverage (10%)   About You 4–6 years of direct experience in data, product, operations, learning or change, with hands-on experience or demonstrated interest in AI. Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Science, Business, Computer Science, Social Sciences or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience leading or contributing to projects that changed how a team works, such as process improvement, tool adoption or digital transformation. Using generative AI tools (e.g. LLM-based assistants, custom GPTs or agents) in real workflows, including prompt design, testing outputs and understanding their limitations. Workflow automation and no-/low-code tools (e.g. Zapier, Make, n8n, or similar), and a working understanding of how APIs and integrations connect systems. Process mapping and documentation (e.g. Miro, Lucidchart or similar) to capture current and future-state workflows. Designing measurement approaches: setting baselines, defining success metrics, and running small tests or pilots to compare approaches. Survey design and qualitative analysis (e.g. interview synthesis, thematic coding). Profile of someone who would thrive in this role: Curiosity about AI and how work is changing. You explore new tools and capabilities, experiment with emerging approaches, learn from those experiences, and share what you learn with others. Systems thinking. You understand how changes to a workflow, team or technology can affect data, time, quality, risk and other parts of an organisation, and you consider those connections when making decisions. An evidence-first mindset. You approach claims of AI-driven productivity or impact with healthy scepticism, establish baselines, define measures of success, and use evidence to judge whether an approach is delivering results. Sound AI judgment and adaptability. You respond well to changing tools and approaches, and can judge where AI is likely to help, where human oversight is required, and where AI is not the right solution. A responsible and critical approach to AI. You consider who benefits from technology, who may bear its costs or risks, and the environmental implications of its use, and you engage constructively with critical perspectives on AI alongside its potential benefits. Strong discovery and interviewing skills. You listen carefully, ask thoughtful follow-up questions, and move beyond stated requests to uncover underlying needs and problems. Insight generation. You spot patterns across teams, synthesise qualitative and quantitative information, and use those insights to inform priorities, training and strategy. Clear, concise communication. You explain complex ideas in plain language and communicate effectively with busy, non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing. Strong relationship-building. You build trust across functions, cultures and regions, and collaborate well with colleagues who have different perspectives, experiences and levels of technical expertise. The following is not strictly required but would allow you to thrive in this role: Experience with qualitative research methods, thematic analysis or survey design in a research or UX context. Data analysis with spreadsheets and/or SQL, and building simple dashboards in visualisation tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Tableau, Metabase or similar). Familiarity with data protection and AI-regulation frameworks (e.g. GDPR, EU AI Act) and how they apply to tool evaluation and pilots. Basic scripting (e.g. Python) or experience building AI workflows that connect to internal data. Experience working with global or mission-driven organisations.   Compensation Details B Lab has a compensation plan that includes: An annual salary in the range of £57,100 - £70,000 based on skills and experience In your first year, you’ll start with 20 vacation days in addition to national & bank holidays; this increases to 25 days after your third anniversary  Additional time off during org- wide closures when the entire organization is closed (not including holidays) After your first year of employment - paid time off for community service, 40 hours of paid time off for professional development, and a professional development budget (we assess this PD budget annually) Additional floating holidays and personal days (prorated to start date) Medical and dental supplemental insurance for the employee through BUPA Life insurance benefit Income protection insurance Statutory pension Global travel insurance A remote-first workplace A flexible work environment with the ability to plan your work week around your personal commitments   This is a Full-Time Role (40 hours per week, 5DWW) with no option for part-time work.  This job ad is for  our London, UK hub. About B Lab B Lab™ is the nonprofit behind Certified B Corporations™, a community of businesses that meet verified social, environmental, and governance standards. Together, our movement is working towards a more inclusive, equitable, and fair economic system. Our history B Lab began in 2006 with the idea that a different kind of economy was not only possible — it was necessary. Our founders Andrew Kassoy, Bart Houlahan, and Jay Coen Gilbert believed there was a better way to do business: better for workers, better for communities, and better for the planet. When our movement’s first 81 Founding B Corps signed the Declaration of Interdependence in 2007, they were not just proposing a better way of doing business. They were proposing a different definition altogether.  What we’ve achieved  B Lab became known for certifying B Corporations™, companies that meet verified standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. But we do much more than that. We help mobilize a global community of businesses committed to collective action on society’s most critical challenges. In 2010, B Lab was part of successfully drafting and passing benefit corporation in Maryland, the first U.S. state to do so. This created a legal framework that allows companies to keep their values of care and community, not just shareholder value, at the forefront. Today, benefit corporation legislation is active in 52 jurisdictions around the world.  Our future In 2024, leaders from across the network agreed to evolve into a more integrated organization that embodies interdependence. This next iteration of our global network will balance global coherence with local agency to achieve our vision of economic systems change. We are now building this future together.

Compensation Details B Lab has a compensation plan that includes: An annual salary in the range of €51,000 - €61,000 (inclusive of holiday allowance) based on experience and skills 20 vacation days per year, prorated to your start date - front-loaded and restarting each January 1; increased to 25 days after third anniversary  After your first year of employment, 40 hours paid time off for community service; 40 hours of paid time off for professional development with access to a professional development budget (we assess this PD budget annually) Flexibility to use 3 floating holidays and 2 personal days Additional time off during org- wide closures when the entire organization is closed (not including holidays) B Lab pension scheme One-time stipend to make your home-based workspace more comfortable A remote-first workplace A flexible work environment with the ability to plan your work week around your personal commitments   This is a Full-Time Role (40 hours per week, 5DWW) with no option for part-time work.  This job ad is for Amsterdam, NLD.
